CBCT- Our Latest Technology Advancement

At Indigo Dentistry, we are well known for incorporating new technology to improve the treatment we provide and enhance the experience of our patients. We are extremely excited with the acquisition of the Orthophos Cone Beam System from Sirona Dental. The Cone Beam System allows us to capture clear, detailed, three-dimensional images that improve our patient diagnostic process and make complex dental procedures more predictable. With this new technology we can achieve ideal outcomes while making procedures easier for our patients.

A CBCT ("Cone Beam Computed Tomography System") is a type of X-ray that allows our dentist to evaluate your mouth in a 3D point of view. This integral piece of technology will help Dr. McCoy detect and diagnose potential oral health problems. The scan takes only a matter of seconds using a fraction of the radiation that a standard full set of X-rays creates. For the first time, patients can see their anatomy in accurate, real-life perspectives that allows them to understand their own oral health. This 3D imaging machine is used in a variety of circumstances and can provide the following:

  • Produce more accurate images

  • Assist in dental implant placement

  • Help our dentist recognize serious problems earlier

  • Allow us to share information with other healthcare professionals, and insurance agencies, as needed

What is the Orthophos X-ray Machine and How Does This Device Help?

This X-ray machine is special because it offers both 2D and 3D imaging options. Not only does this unit take 2D or 3D panoramic X-rays, it also captures 3D single periapical X-rays. This means Dr. McCoy can trust it for superior image quality. You are getting the best possible images of your teeth for advanced treatment and care.

This unit is perfect for all endodontic, periodontic, orthodontic, implant, and surgery patients because we can see so clearly into the workings of a patient’s teeth. We can accurately diagnose and treat anyone who comes in with tooth pain, cracked teeth, or those who will be undergoing oral surgery for their wisdom teeth, dental implants, and more. When you are dealing with tooth pain, the last thing you want is to wait for treatment, and this device makes diagnosing any issues that much quicker.

Enjoy our faster, more precise treatment plan that includes detailed X-rays from the Orthophos imaging unit. Contact us today at (803)736-9991 or email us at Indigo@indigodentistrycolumbia.com to learn more.
